Rock Frogs


Jerry Rijstenbil from Fablefactory had had enough of the well-known, sweet children's music. He thought it was time for a counter-voice: The RockFrogs, with cool rock music for both children and their parents.



The RockFrogs: healthy eating is rocking

Together we developed The RockFrogs, from story to characters, into a complete entertainment brand. The RockFrogs were sold under license to Albert Heijn, making them the first children's brand used for the marketing of healthier food.



The RockFrogs in short:



“The RockFrogs are the most popular rock band in the entire Frog World. Rocky, Boney, Becky and Ramyo cruise around in their bus to perform everywhere. Along the way they meet fans from different cultures. They learn that tough frogs exercise enough and eat healthy, so they have enough energy to rock.”



The RockFrogs appeared on all kinds of Albert Heijn private label products.



Stories, performances and craft activities

Furthermore, Rocky, Boney, Becky and Ramyo experienced all kinds of adventures. I wrote the stories for that. For example, for an online animation series and for comics in the monthly magazine Allerhande. And The RockFrogs even performed live: we made an interactive mini-musical, packaged as a rock concert.

Finally, we came up with all kinds of craft activities, in which children did crafts in 'The RockFrogs way', and through that crafting ultimately ended up with healthier food. Because: if you eat healthy and exercise enough, you have enough energy to rock!
